Hunting the Haunted

How NHPP Started

When I was a kid I always found myself watching the scary movies, telling ghost stories and reading all the scariest ghost tales I could find at the school libraries. I was always fascinated by the fact that there were so many people who had a close encounter with a ghost. This only left me wanting to experience some paranormal activity for myself but I was too young to really go about it or even know where to start.

As the years went by I only found my interest in the dark unknown would only grow stronger. Now by the time I was a teenager I would spend a lot of my time reading as much as I could about the paranormal and the local ghost stories. NH has quite a bit of paranormal stories and haunted locations. I began to explore abandoned buildings anytime I saw a chance to get into one. I always looked deep into the shadows in hopes I would encounter a “real ghost”. I don’t know why but I never really feared them, not even as a kid. I was more interested than anything else.

Let’s fast forward to around the year 2000. By this time I had taken my attention from old abandoned buildings to places that were allegedly really haunted. These were the places from the stories I would read about. Little did I know I was about to have a real ghost story of my own!

It was a full moon on a summer night. We were at blood cemetery in Hollis, NH. Stories from this place were endless with a ghost boy by the street to an old man who’s family was murdered in the 1800’s. His name was Abel Blood. Abel had a unique grave marker, it had a hand that pointed up to the heavens and at night people reported that it would change and point down to hell. I never had a chance to see if this was true or false because of vandalism that left it broken In half. The hand part would be missing even to this day.

How NHPP Started

I remember walking walking around the moon lit cemetery and hearing noises coming from the woods but we couldn’t see anything. It was probably just an animal. Later we would hear full on conversations that sounded like they were coming from right next to us but we saw nothing. Then the moment that changed my life and lit a fuse on my paranormal interest. Right in front of my face about 5 feet away and leaning against a tree stood a tall man in a black suit and top hat. His face was very thin and pale and bone like features. I can still see his face clear as day whenever I think about it. As quickly as i realized what I was looking at it vanished right before my eyes. The whole event was probably only a matter of seconds but it seemed like our eyes were locked on each other’s for hours. Now this experience was just that, a personal experience. No one else I was with saw this figure but me. I know what I saw and I saw a man disappear. It was like a human figure clear as day and as solid as you and I but it disappeared. I would go home scratching my head and a bit sad no one else saw it. I am not saying it was Abel Blood but it was the spirit of a tall skinny man. I have been back to Blood cemetery many times after but never saw this man again. We did catch many male evps in the years to come.

It was after this experience and some help from my very supporting family I knew I would dedicate my life to explore the unknown and try to help as many people as I can to understand the things we cannot see or explain. In 2002 I founded NH Project Paranormal and 12 years later we are still helping people.
